Membership in the Association shall be divided into three (3) classifications:  Active, Associate and Auxiliary.  An individual may hold only one classification of membership.

A.   Active Membership

Active membership shall be entitled to all privileges of the Association and shall share equally in its responsibilities.

Only active members may vote. 

B.   Associate Membership

Associate members shall be allowed a voice, but not a vote, may not hold office, and may serve on committees. 

C.   Auxiliary Membership

Auxiliary members shall be allowed a voice but not a vote, may not hold office, and may serve on committees.

Active Membership

Active membership is open to massage school owners, individual massage therapy educational program owners and institutions or individuals offering the massage therapy educational program whose massage therapy student base consists of at least 50% of total student enrollment and who are in compliance with and whose programs are 100% regulated by Occupations Code Chapter 455. 

Associate Membership

Associate Membership shall include the following:

1.   Individual:  Includes massage therapy instructors employed by Active members, massage therapy educational program directors, other massage therapy educators employed by Active members.

2.  Corporate:  Includes corporations and businesses.

Auxiliary

Licensed massage therapists, healthcare professionals within or outside the massage profession, spouses and other interested individuals. Includes any person retired from the massage profession.

 Dues

A.   Dues shall be payable in U.S. dollars according to the following scale: 

Active Members          

Dues for Active members are $200 annually. 

   

B.   Payment for dues are as follows: 

Annually:  The entire amount is due no later than the first quarterly meeting.

Dues are for one year of membership. Membership is valid from the time dues are paid until the first quarterly meeting of the following calendar year. 

C.   All new and renewal dues shall be billed and collected by the Treasurer.
